One of my most favorite things to do is each year is to break out the "whites" in my wardrobe for summer.  Most of you know that, as a former NY'er, I tend to wear a lot of black...even if the sun is out.  But......I really love doing a complete 180 and mixing up my whites/creams/taupes/pale greys when summer finally arrives.  It's such a fresh breezy look!  Loose knits and baggy pants, a great lightweight scarf....heaven.  Give it a try!!
